We all struggle with confidence in one way or another, but lacking confidence in your outfit choice should be a thing of the past. We’ve create a list to help you find the right style for you, learn to love what you wear and embrace your body.

Learn what works for your body type

The most important thing to consider when buying clothes is your body type. Everyone is unique, so we shouldn’t all dress the same. Whether you have an hourglass figure or are more pear shape, you need to dress according to your body type. What works on someone else, won’t necessarily work on you so find a style that works for you and stick to it. Learn which areas to flaunt and you’ll be glowing with a new found confidence.

Discover the best colours for your skin type

The next step in your confidence journey is to learn which colours suit your skin tone and features best. Which colours enhance your beauty and which wash you out? InStyle offers tips on who best suits warm colours, cool colours or neutrals. The most important thing is to focus on yourself instead of others and learn what suits you. A little black dress has long been thought a wardrobe essential, but if black just isn’t your colour then find something just as essential that works for you.

Embrace your personal style

Once you’ve identified your body type and skin tone and found a style that works for you, make sure to stick to it.   Learn what works for you and embrace it. That said, it is important to remember that not everyone with the same body shape will like the same clothes. Make sure to showcase your personality in your wardrobe, reflecting what you love will boost your confidence.

Be optimistic and focus on you

Having the right mindset when choosing what to wear is so important. Nothing is going to look good if you have a defeatist attitude. Make sure to focus on yourself and don’t compare yourself to others.

Focus on the basics

Make sure your wardrobe is kitted out with the basic essentials. Ensuring you have the perfect pair of jeans or shorts, or the perfect jacket that will work with a range of outfits, is key to feeling confident. Stick to neutral colours and don’t be afraid to try on lots of different styles until you find the right one for you. Investing in some staples is key to confidence because you’ll always have them to fall back on if you begin to feel like you’re too far out of your comfort zone.

We hope these tips have shown you just how you can feel more confident in your outfit choices.

Remember to focus on what works for you and less on what others are wearing.
