It Friday 2nd June 2017…..
Not any normal Friday…
This Friday will start the weekend off the right way….
It’s National Doughnut Day!!
Every first Friday in June, people often celebrate the doughnut whilst honouring the Salvation Army Lassies. These are the women that served doughnuts to the soldiers during WW1 in 1938, when this tradition began. Their goal of this fundraiser was to provide the needy through the great depression.
Fun Fact: The doughnuts were often cooked in oil in the metal helmets belonging to the soldiers.
What better way to admire these beautiful creations than to share them amongst eachother. Use these hashtags and keep us posted on your donut #NationalDonutDay, #NationalDoughnutDay and #studentwire
And obviously as students we should have some sort of benefit to this?
Krispy Kreme have sent a gift from the gods and provide students 20% discount all year round. So lets use this day and begin appreciating this.
So keeping it sweet and simple we hope you’re celebrating as much as we are…
