Together with Leeds’ own symphony orchestra, iconic Leeds club Back To Basics, in partnership with Leeds City Council, is preparing to stage their greatest party yet. Huge dancefloor anthems are set to be reworked and performed live by a 50-piece orchestra, together with live vocalists and some very special guests, all from the grand stage of Millennium Square.
It’s a similar concept to Hacienda Classical and Pete Tong Ibiza Classics, both of which have toured the world to sold out audiences. But like these, it’s not just for jaded old ravers who can’t face late nights and loud nightclubs anymore. In fact, with special guests like Basement Jaxx, and DJ sets from Basics regular, Ralph Lawson, the evening is set to be belter, and a great experience for anyone who loves their dance music.
The Symphonic Sounds of Back To Basics is the first collaboration between the promoter and the Orchestra of Opera North, as two contrasting Leeds-based music institutions come together to celebrate the full range of the city’s sensational musical offering.
There’s also rumours of an afterparty too, so watch this space!
The Orchestral Sounds of Back to Basics take place on Friday July 28th, with tickets available from Opera North.
