I wish I could tell you to take X pill and you will be as right as rain but unfortunately that’s not the way our body works. Our body wants us to pay for the mistakes we made last night and don’t we know it. I can however give you a few tips and tricks on how to make that hangover a little bit better.
The best medicine for your hangover is to drink a little more. But unfortunately this isn’t exactly appropriate, as life isn’t just one big party, even if it does seem like it is half the time at university.
We all know getting rid of a hangover isn’t easy. But there are a few things you can do to help you numb the pain and stop you spending the day with your head over the big white telephone.
First of all, you need to remember that…
Water is the best medicine. You can buy all the medicines in the world, but nothing works as well as water. Have a glass of water in between your drinks during the night, this will ensure your hangover isn’t as bad in the morning.
Coffee is not good for a hangover. Drinks containing caffeine should be avoided like the plague. Although they will make you feel better right away, they cause dehydration and loose bowels, in effect making the hangover much worse.
Don’t go for over the counter medicines as it can cause stomach irritation. Your body is already putting up with so much after your excessive drinking, and adding any more inducers into your body is something you should avoid.
Eat, eat and eat some more. Even though you’d resent the thought of stuffing your face with food you are just going to have to deal with the consequences. Your body has been fighting a losing battle and it needs supplies. If you can have a full breakfast, do that. Everyone loves a good fry-up! But avoid anything fatty as this would only put an added pressure to your already weakened digestive system.
Remember, it’s not going to take the hangover away instantly, but it sure would help you feel a lot better.
