Uber Student Discount? Yes please!

At uni, you know the word uber. You love the word Uber. An uber can save the day, or the night.

If you don’t know Uber, where have you been? Let us educate you!

A trip to the shops, a rainy journey to uni or a last minute venture into town for the night (and a bit of the morning!), Uber is the only car service you need to know.

With an average wait time of 4 minutes, or 3 minutes if you’re lucky enough to live in London, you can just whip out your phone with the knowledge that you won’t be waiting long for your saviour of a (cut taxi) driver. If you download the app, there is even a map of the city to show you where the nearest Uber is and then you can track its exact journey to you.

When you place your order, you’re instantly sent the name of your driver, their rating, the car model, colour and registration plate. You’re even asked to rate your driver once you’ve left the car. With your journey and driver being monitored, you can sit back and relax knowing that you’re in for a safe ride.

The app lets you enter your card details and pay for your journey with the click of a button. There is also the option of splitting your fare quickly and easily with your friends. You can also share your ETA (estimated time of arrival) with your friends and family so they can see that you’re on your way and aren’t still locked in the bathroom applying your eyeliner for the seventh time in a desperate bid to get the perfect flick.

You’ll receive an E-receipt with each journey so you know exactly how much your journey cost and how much you have left to spend on that table football, Sega drive or extra bottles of beer.

The journey is incredibly relaxed with comfy seats, plenty of leg room and phone chargers in each and every car. You can even play your own Spotify playlist while you ride!

Want to try it all for yourself? Get your first ride up to £15 free with the code STUDENTWIRE15!

With even more reasons to love Uber this year, will you be riding with us?
