Roses are red, violets are blue… we all know the drill. Fancy dabbling in the poetic arts? Interflora, one of the UK’s leading online florists is running a Verses for my Valentine competition that you guys could enter and be in with the chance to win an iPad Air 2. All you have to do is dabble in 140 characters of poetic wonder, perfect for the creative few.
Not feeling the Valentine’s romance yet? Here are a few of the old classics to give you some inspiration:
“A hundred hearts would be too few. To carry all my love for you.”.. awwww cute.
“Roses are red. Violets are blue. No one will ever love you. As much as I do” – it just pulls on the heart strings, no?
With just over three weeks until Valentine’s day it’s not surprising if the Valentine’s spirit hasn’t reached you yet, but if you feel like giving this a go then here’s how you can get involved. All you need to do is come up with a Valentine’s verse that is 150 words or less, tweet it to @InterfloraUK with the #vdayverse and if you fancy posting it on your blog too, what is the harm?
How about a student special Valentine’s verse?
A single red rose, I can’t afford a bunch. Dinner’s too expensive, but I’ll take you out for lunch. Happy Valentine’s day!
