Registering for a doctors at university may not always feel like a priority but taking the time to fill out a form and find a surgery near you is crucial for your health.
The Light Surgery team were on hand last week at the Student Hub to offer advice and ensure all student’s had the vaccinations they need and had registered with a GP. Forms were on offer on the day and the assistance of a GP from the surgery was at hand. Students also had the chance to grab goodie bags with all the usual student treats in them (a condom and a lolly pop of course).
This year, all freshers are being offered a meningitis jab as they have been deemed the most at risk – a different version of the vaccination is also available to other university students.
Why choose The Light surgery?
They offer longer opening hours which will fit easily around your university timetable. With late appointments available on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s you have no excuse for not booking in.
The surgery is located right in the city centre of Leeds, a short distance from both University’s and many accommodations.
Saturday morning appointments are available between 9am and 1pm.
If you missed out on signing up at The Student Hub, the Light Surgery will be in Boots at the Trinity Lock in on Tuesday the 29th of September.
